We are looking for:
- Syensqo is looking for a Facility Manager to lead and coordinate the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of our industrial production site in Oudenaarde. In this role, you will ensure that buildings, utilities, infrastructure, and contracted site services are managed to support reliable production, optimize operating costs, improve site conditions, and maintain business continuity—always in line with local regulatory requirements and Syensqo HSSE standards.
This position also supports the progressive build-up of maintenance management capability (preventive maintenance, asset reliability, contractor management, and utility performance). - A hands-on facility leader to oversee buildings, utilities, infrastructure, and site services in an industrial manufacturing environment
- A strong coordinator who partners closely with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and HSSE teams
- A disciplined and safety-driven professional who ensures compliance, reliability, and continuity of site operation
- A future-oriented contributor able to build systems and capability to grow toward broader maintenance management responsibilities
We count on you for:
- Leading day-to-day facility operations (buildings, grounds, warehouses, offices, workshops, common areas)
- Ensuring the facility remains safe, clean, secure, and fully operational to support uninterrupted production
- Coordinating site services (cleaning, waste handling, pest control, security, landscaping, general upkeep)
- Monitoring utilities and infrastructure performance and coordinating repairs/service activities
- Managing contractors and service providers (scope, quality, permits, and strict compliance with site safety rules)
- Supporting capital projects, renovations, infrastructure upgrades, and continuous site improvements
- Maintaining facility records and compliance documentation (permits, inspections, certifications, statutory records)
- Developing and managing facility budgets and identifying cost optimization opportunities (without compromising HSSE, compliance, or reliability)
- Coordinating corrective and preventive maintenance for facility systems and contributing to proactive maintenance plans for critical assets
- Tracking work orders, recurring issues, downtime causes, and service history using CMMS/SAP or site records
- Developing and monitoring KPIs for facility performance, service reliability, compliance, and maintenance maturity
- Building capability and development plans for self and team; preparing to cover for Maintenance Manager when needed
- Supporting plant quality management systems and applicable regulatory requirements

You will bring:
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Facilities Management, or similar technical discipline (preferred)
Experience
- 10–15 years in an industrial facility (preferably chemical process or manufacturing)
- 5+ years in supervisory roles and/or facilities, maintenance coordination, engineering, or project leadership
Skills & knowledge
- Strong leadership and organizational capability; ability to coach and develop employees and contractors
- Ability to set priorities, deliver results, and drive cross-functional alignment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good computer skills (MS Office, Google Workspace); experience with CMMS/SAP and AutoCAD (preferred)
- Strong understanding of industrial facility systems (HVAC, electrical distribution high/low voltage, IT infrastructure, plumbing, fire protection, compressed air, water, drainage, lighting, building infrastructure)
- Working knowledge of safety standards, permit-to-work, contractor safety management
- Awareness of environmental compliance impacts (air, wastewater, storm water)
- Investigation and root-cause analysis skills with corrective action implementation
- Working knowledge of preventive/predictive maintenance, mechanical integrity, asset care fundamentals
- Plus: batch/continuous processing exposure; Lean, reliability improvement, project management fundamentals
You will get:
- The expected annual base salary for this position is reasonably between €75,760 – €94,700. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity, and may ultimately be higher or lower than the stated range.
