This is a position within the Global Business Services (GBS) Finance Service Line (FSL) team and will be based in the Syensqo Service Center in Curitiba.

The incumbent will represent locally the GBS  FSL Latin America (LAM) team and report to the Country Accounting Director (CAD) for the Americas companies.  The Lead CAM LATAM main stakeholders are Group Accounting and Reporting (GAR) members, where main interfaces are: the Head of GAR, the Financial Controller dealing with all transversal processes in LATAM, the consolidation team and the GAR Project Manager coordinating the external auditors relationship. Reporting to the Lead CAM LATAM are: the Company Accounting Managers (CAMs) and Tax Compliance Managers (TCMs) in LATAM countries and the Team Lead of the Accounting Platform in Curitiba.

 
Overall, LAM Lead CAM supports CAD Americas on the delivery of IFRS, statutory accounts & tax compliance activities of all legal entities in LATAM, the deployment and tests of Internal Control in scope, the relationship with external auditors, and the rollout of major projects/reforms, in LATAM. The main objectives and expectations for this positon:

- LATAM go-to person for compliance related topics, mirroring the responsibilities of CADs. Ensure IFRS & local compliance obligations (in LATAM) in terms of Accounting and Tax (e.g. Accounting Closing and Tax filings), by defining relevant accounting treatment in a country, in the interest of the Group and in alignment with GAR. Ensure consistency with other countries on e.g. key accounting positions, roll-out of a new regulation and/or a new process implementation;

- People Manager – managing Company Accounting Managers (CAMs), Tax Compliance Managers (TCMs) and Accounting Platform (ACP) team in LATAM; 
- Provide expertise and support to CAMs and TCMs on issues requiring judgement;
- Evaluate the country CAMs & TCMs’ performance, contracting new CAMs/TCMs and off-boarding low performers. Develop the CAMs/TCMs to the expected level of expertise. Training & developing future leaders in the region;

- Leader in the Service Center  – Grow & develop ACP, through the support of ACP Teamlead. Seen as the go-to Leader in the Curitiba office. Leverage on FSL at the Service Center to manage operational issues in the region;
- Promote IFRS awareness in LATAM, with the support of the GAR IFRS desk;
- Within FSL, cross-functional-collaboration between members of Service Lines and Service Units, focusing on standardization, simplification, automation and change management. E.g. collaborate with Purchasing Service Line (PSL) and Human Resource Service Line (HRSL) to identify and improve control deficiencies and improve processes;
- Across Finance BSA: In LATAM, liaison with and develop the network of CAD, Business Controllers, Group Accounting and Reporting (GAR), GTax, and various individuals from the Service Centers.Support GAR in the region by contributing to the management cycle (provide cash forecast, monitor cash flow statement per legal entity and propose actions to improve cash generation) and financial controlling e.g. review of complex contract, IFRS 16 analysis, simulations (new standard, major transaction, Group reorganization, etc.);
- Projects: manage /lead regional projects, e.g. Brazil Tax Reform, Pillar 2, Capital injections, legal entity reductions;
- Forecast and manage budget for the LATAM CAM, TCM and ACP teams.

Education and Experience:

Certification or equivalent certification from one of the following:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA);
- Conselho Regional de Contabilidade (CRC);
- Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA);
- Excellent experiences in general accounting and taxation;
- Knowledge of Brazil tax rules (VAT, Income tax, others taxes …) preferred;
- Knowledge of treasury topic and cash forecast preferred;
- Solid experience in managing accounting and/or tax compliance teams;
- Experiences in managing relationship with external auditors.

Must-have skills:

- Ability to understand systems architecture and strong IT tools knowledge in SAP ERP, BFC and Microsoft Office, experience at Google is preferred;
- Ability to balance hands-on financial management with making senior-level decisions;
- Strong communication skills. The ability to listen and provide a deep level of business insight when exercising a judgement on specific issues regarding financial statements to make decisions in the interest of the Company. The ability to communicate, persuade and defend positions in front of strong stakeholders in a multicultural environment;
- The ability to manage complex topics under uncertain / stressful circumstances;
- The ability to prioritize and manage tight deadlines;
- Ability to interact with peers, BSA finance team, and stakeholders from all levels across different cultures.

Nice-to-have skills:

- Financial instrument knowledge.

Must-have language skills:

- Good written and spoken communication in English and Portuguese.

Nice-to-have language skills:

- Spanish.
