We are looking for: Researcher 

Based in Niagara Falls, CANADA

A motivated team member who will work collaboratively with a team of scientists to support the Research & Innovation and Business Development activities of the Phosphorus Specialties business.

We count on you to:

• Performing tasks safely and maintaining an organized and safe work environment for self and others
• Assisting in the daily routine or non-routine operations of the laboratory
• Following company policies and procedures as well as complying with all applicable safety regulations
• Participating in site safety programs, including inspections, audits, observations, and safety meetings, while completing all training as scheduled
• Supporting new product introduction projects and process scale-up campaigns
• Applying wet chemistry techniques in the synthesis of new or existing products
• Handling air sensitive, pyrophoric, and other hazardous chemicals in a safe manner using established procedures
• Recording, interpreting, and reporting experimental results in an electronic lab notebook platform
• Communicating and formalizing test results in the form of technical and/or monthly reports
• Monitoring lab chemical inventory and replenishing supplies as required
• Coordinating various aspects of samples and/or orders, including preparing and packaging samples for shipping and delivery to customers
• Liaising with other departments in their activities to meet team goals (e.g. Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, etc.)
• Performing other assigned duties with little or no supervision

You will bring:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Chemistry, a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
• Safe work habits and ability to work effectively with others
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Experience in synthetic chemistry
• Knowledge of lab testing and instrumentation
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Salesforce and SAP is considered an asset
• Certification in TDG, IATA, and IMDG
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

You will get:

• Competitive salary and benefits package.
• The Canadian annual base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this new hire is: $86,400 to $108,000.  Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, such as skills, experience, qualifications, etc. and can ultimately be more or less than the posted salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives
• 16, or more, weeks of maternity/paternity and co-parenting leave, according to local regulations
