We are looking for:

  • Operations Engineer who will have individual accountability for site HSE, Quality, Productivity, and Manufacturing Excellence objectives

     

We can count on you to:

  • Ensure all aspects/standards of the Responsible Care Safety Program are met
  • Accountable for technical ownership of assigned unit and responsible for ensuring unit meets or exceeds goals for HSE, Quality, Productivity, and Manufacturing Excellence objectives, cost, and customer satisfaction
  • Lead incremental improvement initiatives and projects to optimize existing processes with assigned unit.
  • Supports advancement initiatives in the areas of Safety, Zero Defect, and Operations Improvement through utilization of a continuous improvement culture.
  • Facilitates execution of select Site Key X’s and strategic plan initiatives to ensure the site meets its critical business objectives.
  • Establish and maintain process metrics and data, such as cycle time, OEE, cost utilization, yields, downtime tracking etc, to assure processes are in control.
  • Responsible for investigations into any process deviations, finding root causes to prevent future occurrences and ensuring actions are implemented.
  • Assist with the coordination of Maintenance activities as needed in the unit to deliver necessary Safety, Quality, and Production performance.
  • Work with Production Superintendent's to define instructions and procedures for the Operations team for any non-standard operations.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and use Six Sigma and Lean techniques to achieve improvement.
  • Lead execution of incremental process improvements (capacity, yield, cost, Lean, etc.) through the use of Area Improvement Teams (AIT).
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate production posting and inventory counts in units, as required.
  • Lead the development and execution of incremental process improvements through capital projects.
  • Complete PHA’s, MOC’s, SOP data sheet updates, Gensuite action items, etc., as required
  • Complete campaign and annual product reviews for products within assigned unit, as required.
  • Support investigation and resolution of safety incidents (PSI’s & Near-misses) and quality complaints (SCARs).
  • Fill in as relief for Production Superintendent, as necessary.

 

 

You will bring:

  • Bachelors of Science ( Chemical Engineering Preferred)
  • Experience in Chemical manufacturing
  • 3 + years experience in related experience preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task
  • Understanding manufacturing processes

You will get:

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • The Canadian annual base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this new hire is: $98,000 to $130,000.  Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, such as skills, experience, qualifications, etc. and can ultimately be more or less than the posted salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives
  • 16, or more, weeks of maternity/paternity and co-parenting leave, according to local regulations
