IT Lead - China Digital Resilience

Fixed-term contract

China - Shanghai, CN

Oct 14, 2026

Syensqo is all about chemistry. We’re not just referring to chemical reactions here, but also to the magic that occurs when the brightest minds get to work together. This is where our true strength lies. In you. In your future colleagues and in all your differences. And of course, in your ideas to improve lives while preserving our planet’s beauty for the generations to come.

Shape a resilient digital future for Syensqo in China.

We are looking for

A hands-on technology program leader who understands how to deliver in mainland China and connect local solutions with a global enterprise.

You will turn strategic direction into working capabilities, from defining scope and architecture to delivering pilots and establishing sustainable operations. The challenge is to build the local capabilities China needs for accessibility, compliance, innovation and resilience, while retaining Syensqo's global ERP and other core transactional platforms.

You will bring together China business and IT teams, global technology specialists and local partners to make that happen.

We count on you for

  • Turn strategy into delivery. Define the minimum viable localisation scope, business cases, roadmap, budget, resources and governance, with clear priorities and measurable outcomes.

  • Shape China-ready architecture. Lead designs using Microsoft Azure operated by 21Vianet and other cloud providers as appropriate, covering landing zones, identity, connectivity, security, monitoring and recovery. Validate local service availability and supportability.

  • Connect local and global platforms. Define integration and controlled data-flow patterns, avoiding unnecessary duplication of core enterprise systems.

  • Deliver capabilities that matter. Prioritise data, document management and AI. Define the appropriate scope for Power Platform, network, infrastructure, security and communications resilience based on business needs.

  • Align people, partners and decisions. Coordinate China and global stakeholders, select and manage technology partners, and work with legal, privacy and cybersecurity specialists to embed appropriate controls and make risks visible.

  • Make resilience operational. Deliver pilots and China access testing, establish local support and incident-response ownership, and test fallback procedures before transitioning services into ongoing operations.

You can count on us for

  • Own a strategic program from definition to operation, not only advise on a design. Work with China leadership and global specialists, influence technology decisions and see your work become services that colleagues can use, support and recover.

You will bring

  • Significant experience leading complex cloud, infrastructure or digital transformation programs in mainland China.

  • Experience integrating China-hosted solutions with global enterprise platforms, and strong knowledge of network architecture and connectivity in mainland China.

  • Experience in a multinational environment, with sound judgement on global standards and legitimate local needs.

  • Experience managing major technology partners, systems integrators and managed service providers.

  • Strong program governance, financial and dependency management, executive reporting and stakeholder influence.

  • Fluent Mandarin and English, including the ability to lead technical and executive conversations in both languages.

  • You bring team-leadership experience and the potential to coordinate specialists across technology disciplines. You can translate complex choices into clear decisions and build trust across Chinese and international teams.

Preferred experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure operated by 21Vianet, including China/global cloud differences, landing zones and operational support, is preferred. Relevant delivery experience with other cloud providers will also be considered.
  • Additional strengths could include Power Platform in China; data, reporting, document or AI services; cross-border identity integration; business continuity; SAP environments; or establishing local IT operating models. Azure architecture or security certifications and experience within the Microsoft/21Vianet ecosystem would also be valuable.

Additional information

You must be based in mainland China and legally authorised to work there. Shanghai is the preferred location. Regular domestic travel and occasional international travel are required.
