We are looking for: The jobholder will be a part of the RI organization located in Shanghai Technology Park. He/she will work closely with GBU business team (sales and marketing managers) and CTD (Customer Technology Development) to provide innovated polymer formulation solutions to address the specific performance/application needs from customers in all market clusters (Transportation, Electrical & Industrial, Healthcare, Environment, Consumer & Construction). He/she will collaborate closely with other members of China EM team, ADL (Application Development Labs) and Corporate RI Labs in Shanghai, as well as global GBU RI teams (Alpharetta, Bollate) to facilitate the developmental programs.
We count on you for: • Conduct research and development activities focused on high-performance polymers, including formulation, processing, and testing. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop new products that meet specific performance criteria. • Execute projects/programs aligned with business strategy and following the innovation process • Responsible for identifying IP potential and file patent application if appropriate • Fully engaged with GBU business and CTD teams with on-time responses to customer needs • Collaborate closely with R&I cross functions to facilitate the developmental programs. • Participate GBU business activities, including visits to customers, technical presentations during internal and external seminars/discussions.
You will bring: • Master or PhD in polymer science or chemistry / Polymer or chemical / Polymer engineering • 8 years+ experience product development in compounding technology for high performance polymer compounds. • Over 5 years of industrial experience in high-temperature polymer materials and compounds, including melt processes such as compounding, injection molding, and extrusion fabrication. Proficient in testing and characterization techniques and their related applications. Experience in the transportation industry is considered an advantage • Well organized working style, self-motivated in technical learnings and strong expiration to exceed • Good written and spoken English and communication skills. • Be proactive and collaborative with various functional teams and an effective team player • Strong scientific skills in polymer materials science and technology |
