We are looking for:
An experienced HSE Manager for the R&I and Campus of Aubervilliers (PARIS) site
We count on you for:
Right-hand man, he assists the Site Director in properly identifying hazards and controlling risks within the facility, in compliance with all regulations and Group requirements. He will be in charge of a team of 4 HSE technicians
The HSE Manager will be responsible for:
- Developing, implementing, and overseeing health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote a culture of safety and sustainability across our site
- Supporting Syensqo's commitment to safe, sustainable, and ethical practices
- Covering responsibility on global safety of the Campus and organizational safety of Syensqo Labs
- Being the point of contact for Syensqo GBU Initiatives and Companies on site of HSE
Key Responsabilities:
- Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with Syensqo’s Life saving rules , sustainability goals and regulatory requirements
- Advise management on compliance requirements regarding applicable EU legislation, ensuring required compliance
- Conduct regular risk assessments thanks to a strong R&I expertise and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions
- Lead incident investigations and ensure timely reporting and documentation of findings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate HSE considerations into project planning and execution.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on HSE best practices and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor and analyze HSE performance metrics to drive continuous improvement
- Foster a "Speak Up" culture where employees feel safe to raise concerns and contribute to a safe working environment
- Coordinates the site's emergency plan
- Evaluates the HSE performance of the employees under his responsibility
- Periodically participates in the management team's “Safety Dialogues”
You will bring:
- Senior R&I manager with HSE experience or strong HSE awareness
- Comprehensive knowledge of HSE regulations and standards and guidance
- Background: Experience in a research organization or laboratory environment, with a strong understanding of lab management, priorities, and safety challenges.
- Expertise: Practical knowledge of health & safety issues in labs; a formal HSE qualification is a plus, but not essential.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse and inclusive environment
- Collaboration: Proven ability to communicate and collaborate effectively at all levels, including with external partners. Able to influence and manage third-party activities on site.
- Customer Focus: A genuine commitment to understanding and addressing the needs of lab users, with a track record of delivering customer-centered solutions.
- Leadership: People-oriented leader who inspires trust, engagement, and positive change—especially in times of transition.
