Job Overview and Responsibilities
The Consumer and Resources Product Stewardship teams belong to the Syensqo Industrial function and interacts closely with multiple functions providing regulatory expertise and guidance to the businesses and R&I.
The Product Stewardship Compliance Specialist will work with Consumer and Resources global research centers to ensure that research and development product line samples, and exported raw materials are appropriately classified for export regulations (including dual use, drug precursor regulations).
This position will report directly to the Product Stewardship Compliance Manager, EMEA.
The responsibilities include
- Classify exported research samples and raw materials from Consumer and Resources sites in regard to export control regulations (dual use chemicals, drug precursors, PIC regulations etc.)
- Ensure that SAP EHS database is maintained for samples with appropriate export classification, working closely with the Operations team. Updating as appropriate if new composition information becomes available.
- Liaise with Global Registration and Solvay export compliance team for global export compliance follow-up and data maintenance. Review and assess portfolio if there are new regulations.
- Coordinate export control classification topics in the cluster for research samples and raw materials, working closely with regional compliance teams and global product stewards.
- Work with R&I centers to ensure that other product stewardship requirements for sample shipments (imports, exports and domestic) comply with local regulatory requirements and record keeping.
- Answers to trade team specific questions on Consumer and Resources R&I portfolio and raw materials.
- Provide training to the R&I/Business team on regulatory matters.
- Represent Product Stewardship in meetings for communicating around regulatory topics.
- Provide our stakeholders with an optimum perspective between regulatory compliance and added value, compatible with Group policy and procedures.
- Deliver accurate and timely assessment of research products and raw materials for export compliance.
- Complete and maintain high quality regulatory assessments for assigned prodicts in timelines required. Maintain compliance for assigned portfolio.
- Work with GBU research centers to manage R&I product regulatory compliance.
You will bring:
Education and Experience
- Have a graduate level qualification, preferably in a science or engineering chemicals subject.
- At least 5 years of industrial experience is preferred.
- Experience or understanding of regulatory affairs or product safety is required.
- Export control experience (dual use chemicals) would be desirable, but training will be provided.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to effectively communicate regulatory requirements and strategies.
- Very good verbal and written English level required for day to day business
