Syensqo P&C Agricultural Specialties develop innovative and sustainable solutions for crop protection formulations, seed treatments, ensuring lower environmental impact & better resource management. Our portfolio includes seed-coating formulations, and sustainable coformulants for crop protection formulations.

The Biology Lab Leader leads the biology laboratory supporting world-wide AGRO activities (Seed Care, Biologicals, Crop Protection), ensuring delivery of biological performance projects in line with the business strategy.

Success in this role means prioritizing R&I studies, developing robust screening methods, and leading the team to generate high-quality data and conclusions that accelerate product development and technology transfer.

We’ll count on you to :

Lead day-to-day operations of a biology lab and ensure robustness, reliability and KPI tracking.

Manage the R&D trials pipeline: experimental design, execution, data analysis and technical conclusions.

Develop and implement screening methods to select and qualify AGRO products under development based on biological performance of treated seeds or foliar application (method development, validation, documentation, data interpretation).

Lead, manage and develop the biology team: optimize organization and lab performance, propose improvements (processes, investments), and support development of team technical and soft skills.

Ensure HSE, quality and compliance (ISO 9001), CAPEX planning and equipment lifecycle management.

Drive lab digitalization and automation (e.g., LIMS, auto-watering system) to improve efficiency, quality and traceability.

Collaborate with the worldwide AGRO R&D, Business and Marketing organization

You will bring :

MSc/PhD in plant biology or agronomy.

~3-5+ years of experience in agronomy/agrochemical R&D, including lab management and trials execution.

Strong organizational skills, ability to manage a pipeline of several projects, short-term & long-term

Strong leadership, customer orientation, high reactivity and proactivity

Rigor, analytical thinking and ability to express complex topics in a concise way

Collaborative and team spirit

Experience with lab digital tools/automation; strong data analysis skills (e.g., DOE Minitab).

Professional proficiency in French and English.

You will get:

The French annual base salary reasonably expected to be paid for this new hire is €50,000 to €75,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, qualification and internal equity and can ultimately be more or less than the posted salary range.
