We are looking for:
A raw material buyer, to acquire related market knowledge, to prepare and execute and apply sourcing strategies, manage the assigned purchase portfolio, to conduct key negotiations and implement contracts within corporate purchasing and SSDC guidelines and based on a clear contract negotiation mandate. Purchasing processes applications and improvement.
In charge of + 100 raw materials & a spend of ab. € 20 M.
We count on you for:
Obtain and maintain professional knowledge
- Collect relevant legal, financial and regulatory information for own domain and perimeter.
- Follow market trends and evolutions within her/his own domain, perform market research and identify and analyze potential suppliers.
Collect and analyze customer’s purchasing demands and needs
- Collect, analyze and research the demands and needs of internal customers and prescribers.
- Define, propose and and/or implement purchasing strategies, and action plans Based on central purchasing guidance principles and in line with Purchasing Process:
- Deploy and apply defined purchasing policies, strategies and action plans within own perimeter.
- Propose to own management (adaptations to the) purchasing strategies based on evolutions in the markets or in customer demands and needs.
- Prepare for Strategic Sourcing Decision Committee (SSDC) meeting for relevant contract/orders values within own perimeter
- Prepare and execute sourcing strategies for the own purchasing portfolio.
- Contribute, together with the internal customer and the own management, priorities, to projects and action plans, and identify the resources needed.
- Execute projects and action plans after approval. Actively promote CSR/SD strategy deployment.
- Discuss with own management all issues affecting the realization of the projects and action plans
Negotiate purchasing contracts Based on central purchasing guidance principles and in line with Solvay Purchasing Process:
- Prepare the negotiation (identify and check potential suppliers, develop the RFQ, and define the negotiation strategy).
- Based on SSDC approval (if applicable based on contract value and/or strategic importance), meet with potential suppliers and negotiate contract conditions with selected suppliers.
- Discuss the results of the negotiations with the internal customer and own management.
- Ensure contracts are approved by the Solvay legal department (if necessary) and the supplier.
- Prepare and finalize the contracts and service level agreements (SLA’s) with the subcontractors and suppliers.
Manage purchasing contracts
- Deploy the contract within own perimeter and communicate the purchase contracts to all relevant stakeholders.
- Follow up whether the supplier respects the agreements and performs up-to-standard.
- Collect and analyze information about the execution of the contract, and ensure reporting to the internal customers and own management.
- Participate in supplier evaluation in line with central guidance and Key Account management strategy
Improve purchase performance
- Propose, implement and follow up projects to optimize purchasing performance (total cost of ownership, synergies, number of suppliers…) in line with central purchasing performance guidance.
- Ensure business continuity by a formal contractualization process.
- Actively promote CSR/SD strategy deployment.
Manage the purchasing processes and activity
- Ensure the correct administration of purchasing documents, respecting defined procedures
- Report all relevant issues to own management.
You will bring:
- Bachelor or above
- at least 5 years' Purchase Experiece in chemical RM
- Experience in SAP
