The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality systems and processes to ensure that specialty polymers and monomers produced at the site meet established standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. This role ensures products fulfill customer requirements and comply with industry-specific regulations, including those related to chemical manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the site’s Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and relevant chemical industry standards (e.g., REACH, Responsible Care®).
  • Lead and manage the QA team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee inspection and testing of raw materials, intermediates, and finished specialty polymers and monomers to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
  • Ensure proper sampling, analytical testing, and documentation in line with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve product or process quality issues, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits (ISO, customer, regulatory, and environmental health & safety audits).
  • Collaborate with R&D, production, engineering, and supply chain teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and support new product introductions.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, including hazardous materials handling and waste management.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records related to quality activities, including batch records, certificates of analysis, and regulatory submissions.
  • Report on quality metrics, trends, and performance to site management and corporate leadership.
  • Manage customer complaints and ensure timely investigation and resolution, including communication with technical service and sales teams.
  • Develop and deliver quality and compliance training programs for site personnel.
  • Active engagement and ownership in implementing and sustaining applicable GBU wide Quality initiatives/programs

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s  degree in Chemistry  or a related field is a must (Ph.D preferred).
  • 15+ years of experience in quality assurance within the specialty polymers, monomers, or chemical manufacturing industry, with minium 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001), chemical industry regulations (e.g., REACH, GHS, TSCA), and GMP.
  • Experience with analytical testing methods for polymers and monomers (e.g., GPC, FTIR, NMR, GC, HPLC).
  • Experience with root cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in quality management software, LIMS, and MS Office Suite.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and audit processes in the chemical sector.
