About the job

As a Data Operations Engineer you will be part of the Data team which encompasses currently several Technologies and Services.


We are seeking a highly motivated and rigorous Data Operations Engineer that will be responsible for the day-to-day management, monitoring, and optimization of our data infrastructure. You will handle incident tickets, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the smooth operation of data pipelines and platforms. Your work will directly support business continuity and data reliability.

You will be in contact with business stakeholders and participate in the building of new capacities.


Context : Syensqo is transforming its IT solution putting Data & AI at a step further with strong expectation for the data to deliver its value and for the business to be more effective.


Key responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain scalable data pipelines and platforms in production.

  • Respond to and resolve incident tickets related to data operations.

  • Optimize operational processes for efficiency and reliability.

  • Collaborate with the data team and its stakeholders to ensure data quality and availability.

  • Document operational procedures and incident resolutions.

  • Participate in building new IT capacities for the business.

 

Education and experience*

Indicate the required education in terms of minimum years of education, required type of degree, field of studies, etc. and the required knowledge and/or experience in terms of minimum years of experience in the respective field 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in data operations, data engineering, or similar roles.

  • Experience with CI/CD data pipeline tools (e.g., Airflow, Talend), SQL, and cloud platforms.

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience with ITSM/ticketing tools.

  • Strong competency with data manipulation: Python, SQL, Talend, cloud function (Azure), Proven expertise with GCP, Azure, Kafka...

  • Proficiency in BMC Helix and/or JIRA for ticket/task management  and Confluence for documentation

  • Have a good knowledge of RUN Service and experience with development
