L3 AVD / Windows 365 Engineer (Infrastructure Workplace)

Permanent contract

India - Pune, IN

Jul 24, 2026

Syensqo is all about chemistry. We’re not just referring to chemical reactions here, but also to the magic that occurs when the brightest minds get to work together. This is where our true strength lies. In you. In your future colleagues and in all your differences. And of course, in your ideas to improve lives while preserving our planet’s beauty for the generations to come.

Within Infrastructure Workplace, the L3 AVD/Windows 365 Engineer is the technical owner and escalation point for Syensqo’s virtual desktop platforms. The role drives architecture, engineering standards, advanced troubleshooting, automation, image lifecycle, and problem management across hybrid identity and Entra ID-only implementations. FSLogix expertise is mandatory; Nerdio is a nice-to-have.

Key accountabilities

Engineering ownership & architecture

  • Design and continuously improve AVD and Windows 365 services: host pool strategy, scaling, resiliency, performance, and operational standards.
  • Define and enforce platform configurations aligned with security, governance, and audit expectations (RBAC/least privilege, configuration baselines).

Major incident & problem management (L3)

  • Lead technical resolution for complex incidents and major outages; coordinate deep-dive troubleshooting across teams.
  • Drive RCA and permanent corrective actions to reduce recurrence.
  • Advanced troubleshooting across:
    • AVD connection flow, agent stack, session stability, performance/capacity bottlenecks.
    • FSLogix design and deep troubleshooting (container strategy, exclusions, tuning, storage dependency, concurrency/locking).
    • Identity patterns (hybrid + Entra ID-only), Conditional Access impacts, registration/token issues.
    • Network/DNS/proxy/VPN impacts and latency-sensitive workloads.

Image, application & change lifecycle

  • Own the golden image lifecycle: build standards, validation, release cadence, regression testing, and rollback strategy.
  • Optimize Microsoft 365 Apps and Teams for virtualization; manage compatibility and performance tuning.
  • Ensure controlled deployment through change management and clear L2 handover.

Automation & observability

  • Build automation (PowerShell required; Azure Automation/Functions as relevant) for repeatable operations and faster recovery.
  • Implement and tune monitoring/alerting using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, dashboards, and actionable SLO signals.

Enablement & governance

  • Produce engineering documentation: reference architectures, standards, runbooks, and troubleshooting playbooks.
  • Mentor L2 engineers; define escalation quality standards and knowledge-sharing routines.
  • Manage Microsoft support escalations and vendor interactions to closure.

Key interfaces (stakeholders)

  • Infrastructure Workplace service owners and operations teams (L2)
  • Cloud Platform/Azure engineering (if separate)
  • Network, Security, IAM, Endpoint management teams
  • Microsoft support / partners

Knowledge & experience (requirements)

  • 5–10+ years in EUC/VDI engineering/support with strong AVD and/or Windows 365 ownership experience.
  • Mandatory: deep FSLogix expertise (design + troubleshooting + performance).
  • Strong Azure engineering skills (networking, identity, monitoring, governance).
  • Strong scripting/automation (PowerShell required).
  • Experience leading problem management and contributing to standards/architecture documentation.

Good to have

  • Nerdio experience (nice to have).
  • IaC (Bicep/Terraform) and CI/CD for configuration/image processes.
  • Defender for Endpoint in VDI/Cloud PC contexts and vulnerability remediation coordination.
  • Intune Knowledge
  • AZ-140 and ITIL Certification

Behaviors (Syensqo-aligned)

  • Ownership mindset: drives outcomes end-to-end and prevents recurrence.
  • Evidence-based engineering and continuous improvement aligned to Syensqo’s mission (“scientific explorers”).
  • Strong collaboration and influence across technical domains.
  • Compliance and security by design.
