We are looking for a technically strong professional to join our Battery Application R&I team, with a focus on NMC cathode binder materials.
In this role, you will lead the technical development of PVDF-based binder systems for NMC cathodes, while exploring innovative chemistries to enhance performance, sustainability, and industrial applicability in Li-ion battery technologies. Acting as a technical reference within the organization, you will bridge advanced material development with application needs and market requirements, working in close collaboration with cross-functional partners including Commercial, Technical Service, and Business teams.
This position combines scientific depth, application orientation, and strong cross-functional interaction in a dynamic and innovation-driven environment.
Main Responsibilities

Drive R&I activities on PVDF-based binder systems for NMC cathodes.

Explore and assess new binder chemistries to improve performance and processability..

Design and coordinate structured experimental plans for formulation and application validation.

Provide technical guidance on binder modification to improve performance, processability, and electrode integration.

Provide technical guidance within laboratory activities, working closely with technicians and junior scientists involved in binder development projects.

Collaborate with synthesis, analytical, application, and scale-up teams to meet project requirements

Interface with Commercial, Technical Service, and Business teams to translate market and customer needs into development priorities.

Provide technical expertise to support customer discussions, application troubleshooting, and business opportunity assessment related to NMC binder systems.

Provide technical input in the definition and prioritization of NMC binder development roadmaps.

Support scale-up and technology transfer from lab to pilot scale.

Ensure high standards of scientific rigor, documentation, and intellectual property generation.

Promote compliance with HSE standards and a strong safety culture.
Profile & Qualifications

MSc or PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.

At least 3 years of experience in Li-ion battery materials, preferably in cathode binders, dispersions, or electrode formulation.

Strong understanding of material performance drivers and structure–performance relationships.

Knowledge of PVDF systems and polymer–inorganic interactions.

Experience designing and interpreting application-oriented experimental programs.

Familiarity with cross-functional or matrix organizations.
