We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager with strong experience in project and change management, including Payroll & Time Transformation, HR Transformation, and data harmonization initiatives, to lead and execute transformation and optimization programs within Syensqo GBS. In this pivotal role, you will manage projects that ensure our services are continuously optimized, scalable, and aligned with Syensqo’s strategic ambitions. Reporting to the GBS PMO Lead, you will play a key role in delivering business value and operational excellence across our global footprint.

 

 

 

We'll count on you to:

Project Management

  • Lead mid- to large-scale projects from initiation to completion, ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, and quality.
  • Drive Payroll & Time Transformation, HR Transformation, and global data harmonization initiatives across regions and business units.
  • Apply structured project management methodologies (Agile/Waterfall/Hybrid).
  • Build business cases, manage budgets, and evaluate costs, benefits, and feasibility.
  • Track progress, manage risks, and ensure proactive mitigation and issue resolution.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Use project management tools (MS Project, Jira, Google Suite) to track performance and drive consistency.

 

Stakeholder Management & Governance

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, business leaders, IT & vendors to align project objectives and priorities, especially across HR, Payroll, and GBS process owners.
  • Lead project meetings and governance routines to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Manage internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver agreed outcomes.

 

Change Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Support adoption of new processes and systems through effective change and communication plans, particularly within HR and Payroll functions.
  • Evaluate change impact and ensure readiness across stakeholder groups.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and standardization in project delivery practices, including end-to-end process harmonization.

  • Demonstrates resilience, composure, and problem-solving ability in dynamic environments.

You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or certifications (PMP, Prince2, Scrum Master) preferred.
  • 4–8 years of experience in project management roles within GBS or multinational environments, including hands-on experience in Payroll & Time Transformation, HR Transformation, and/or global data harmonization projects.
  • Proven success managing cross-functional projects.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen; experience managing project budgets.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Waterfall methodologies and collaboration tools (MS Project, Jira, Google Suite).
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken) is mandatory

Additional information:

  • Office location: Lisbon
  • Hybrid work model: 1 day/week in Lisbon office (Lisbon-based) or 2 days/month if based elsewhere in Portugal.
  • Occasional travel required.
