Product Manager - Sustainability

In the Digital Sustainability team, we strive to build innovative and cutting-edge solutions aligned with Syensqo’s One Planet objectives. 

As a Sustainability Domain Product Manager, you will drive the development and delivery of innovative digital solutions that enable sustainability and One Planet objectives across our organization. Your mission is to create efficient, user-centric and sustainable digital applications that monitor and support the achievement of the company’s sustainability goals, while ensuring high data quality and effective data creation to enable accurate and insightful reporting. In doing so, you will help maximize both business value and environmental stewardship. 

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and communicate a clear vision and product roadmap for sustainability solutions, ensuring alignment with Syensqo’s sustainability and digital strategies;
- Identify and leverage advanced technologies to enhance data lifecycle management, traceability, and environmental impact measurement;
- Drive the full product lifecycle—from ideation to delivery—ensuring robust, high-quality, and user-centric products;
- Collaborate with solution architect, business analysts, data engineers and sustainability teams to deliver innovative solutions;
- Demonstrate agility by proactively leading technology changes, anticipating their impact on your products, setting clear action plans, and effectively managing and supporting change throughout the organization;
- Ensure all solutions comply with Syensqo’s ethical, sustainability, and regulatory standards;
- Manage risks related to data privacy, security, and compliance;
- Engage with stakeholders across business, IT, Syensqo.ai and sustainability domains to co-create value and foster alignment;
- Build strong relationships with external partners, technology providers, and industry groups;
- Allocate resources and manage budgets effectively to deliver projects on time and within scope;
- Promote a culture of trust, collaboration, and open communication within cross-functional teams;
- Lead by example, embodying Syensqo’s values and inspiring teams toward common sustainability goals.

Project Management and Leadership:

- Inspire and motivate the team to achieve innovation goals by setting clear expectations and providing regular feedback;
- Lead by example, embodying Syensqo's core values and promoting a culture of integrity, respect, and excellence.

Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with Corporate Sustainability, business and customer facing teams to build relevant business cases;
- Engage with internal stakeholders, including business units and leadership, to gather insights and seek alignment.

Resource Allocation:
- Efficiently allocate resources, including teams and budget, to ensure that projects are delivered in time, in budget, in value. 

Conflict Resolution:
- Address and resolve any conflicts or challenges within the team, promoting open communication and a "Speak Up" culture where team members feel safe to express concerns;
- Facilitate collaboration and unity within the IT team, valuing diverse perspectives and encouraging constructive dialogue.

Qualifications & Experience:
- A degree in Computer Science, Sustainability or a related field; an advanced degree is a strong plus;
- 8+ experience in product management, preferably in data, analytics, and sustainability-focused environments;
- Strong knowledge of data management, analytics, and sustainability frameworks (Product Carbon Footprint, ESG Reporting & Regulations like CSRD etc.). Knowledge on Microsoft technologies Power Apps & Fabric is a plus;
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and translate user needs into impactful digital products;
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills;
- A deep sense of purpose, integrity, and curiosity for sustainability and digital innovation;
- Result orientation and ability to make an impact;
- Team spirit and relationship-building across functions;
- Ability to communicate complex concepts simply and convincingly.
