Syensqo’s Internal Audit is an international team made-up of around 11 individuals from ~10 nationalities with backgrounds ranging from engineering, science, external audit and finance. Based primarily in Europe, Internal Audit reports directly to the Group’s CFO and the Audit & Risk Committee. The team audits all of Syensqo’s corporate functions and manufacturing plants covering various business processes. These audit assignments can involve up to 2-3 weeks of fieldwork. You will enable Syensqo Group to achieve its objectives through the execution of audit assignments in line with the yearly audit plan. 

 

More importantly, we are a talent pool for the Group and we enable and empower auditors to gain leadership skills to boost their career. Auditors will travel worldwide, experience different cultures, network with other Syensqo employees globally and learn about Syensqo’s various businesses and functions from first-hand experience. After around 3 to 4 years, they will have an opportunity to move into another role within the company (e.g. Finance, Marketing & Sales, Sustainable Development, Supply Chain, Mergers & Acquisitions, etc.).

Job Responsibilities

Under the supervision of  the Internal Audit Manager, you will participate in the different audit engagement steps (preparation, audit fieldwork and audit reporting) and you will be responsible for:

  • Understanding Syensqo’s activities and inherent operational risks
  • Identifying the risks related to the audited entity or process and define the audit approach to ensure that identified risks are properly mitigated 
  • Ensuring the application and deployment of Syensqo’s policies and procedures
  • Performing tests to ensure that risk mitigating controls are effective 
  • Assessing potential risks associated with inefficient and/or lack of processes and procedures
  • Issuing value added recommendations to the Group 
  • Contributing and sharing best practices across Syensqo

 

In addition, you may actively participate in continuous improvement internal projects such as

  • Digitalization of Audit Methodologies 
  • Update of Internal Audit Working Programs

 

You will bring

Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Engineering/Science required, Master’s Degree is preferred
  • Professional experience required 
    • At least 6 years of External Auditing (i.e. Big 4) or Internal Auditing experience. 
    • OR  at least 6 years of operational experience in  industry (R&I, finance, controlling, supply chain, manufacturing, etc.)  
  • Experience with the digitalization of processes and/or data analytics preferred   

Skills 

  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
  • Fluent in English. Other languages are a plus (e.g. French, German, Portuguese & Italian)
  • You are a global learner: drive to learn, understand and adapt to various thinking, learning styles and cultural profiles
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% (including overnight stays) throughout different time zones
