Job Title: HSE Specialist - Environmental
We are looking for:

The HSE Specialist will be responsible for managing all environmental programs at the Alpharetta materials research & innovation facility which includes laboratories, processing areas, a pilot plant, and a maintenance department.

This position will report to the HSE Manager and will be based in Alpharetta.
-
This role will focus on environmental programs but will be part of the Health, Safety, and Environmental team and will be expected to support other Health and Safety activities as needed.
We can count on you for:

Plan and execute waste disposal activities for the Alpharetta site to ensure compliance with applicable State/Federal regulations and Group/Site HSE policies

Preparation of the SARA 312 EPCRA Reporting and SARA 313 Toxic Release Inventory and emission inventory accounting and ACC SERF reporting

Maintain site waste water Permitting Program, interacting with operating departments and onsite wastewater treatment plant to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. Ensure sampling is conducted and monthly Discharge Monitoring Reports are prepared and submitted on time

Interface with Federal, State, and local regulatory authorities

Manage environmental consultant and vendor activities at the site to ensure efficient use of resources.

Assist in the leadership of the continuous improvement efforts of the Responsible Care Management System.

Assist in the development and maintenance of all facility environmental and safety training programs.

Maintain Environmental programs, reporting and records as defined in applicable State/Federal regulations, permits, and Solvay Group/Site HSE policies

Serve as Incident commander on site ERT team

Provide HSE input for process hazard analysis (PHA) program, (MOC) projects and Capital project planning to ensure adherence to site permit requirements, State/Federal regulations and HSE Group procedures/policies
You will bring:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or comparable degree

A minimum of five (5) years of experience, preferably in a laboratory or chemical manufacturing environment.

Competency in the programs being managed

High degree of demonstrated competence in using software applications, specifically spreadsheet software. Experience with environmental modeling techniques and software (ALOHA, PHAST, TANK, etc.) preferred

Experience working within a HSE Management System, RCMS preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to work well within all levels of the organization

Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver effective training content

Organized and able to maintain field documentation and other records

Excellent customer service.

Collaborative and solution focused.

Ability to quickly adapt to change.

Willingness to accept, and put feedback into action

- The U.S. annual base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this new hire is: $98,720 to $123,400 per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including skills, experience, and qualifications. It can ultimately be more or less than the posted salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
