We are looking for:

The Research Technician is responsible for planning and executing activities as defined by the Product Realization Engineer in various research and development projects in support of compounds and process development.

 

We count on you for:

  • Maintains a safe work environment for self and others
  • Execute detailed experimental plan
  • Ensure clarity of planning and communication from Product Realization group to Compounding, Molding, and Polymer Characterization Laboratory
  • Prepare and submit samples for testing; collect, organize data and communicate to Product Realization engineer
  • Support compounding activities during scale-up stage
  • Manage raw material inventories
  • Manage sample inventory and prepare shipments working with customer service and shipping
  • Participates in peer and area coordinator safety audits and attends all required safety meetings & training
  • Maintains relevant Certified Operator status on extruders and adhere to relevant work area SOPs and processes
  • Performs other tasks and duties as required
  • Overtime (over 40 hrs. /work week) and/or alternate shift work may be required
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required

 

You will bring:

  • 3+ years relevant experience in polymer compounding, processing, characterization, and/or product development, or Minimum Associate’s Degree or Technical Certificate/Diploma in related field such as engineering or chemistry
  • Excellent computer skills required
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work across multiple groups and functions
  • High attention to detail and ability to work meticulously
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability and capability to identify improvements to current processes
  • Must be able to regularly lift and move products weighing 55 lbs
  • Capable of being trained to safely operate a forklift
  • Desired: medically cleared to wear a respirator

  • Competitive salary
  • The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is$62,995 to $78,743  per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
