We are looking for:

  • The Strategic R&I group is seeking a highly motivated R&I researcher to join its Alpharetta R&I team.
  • Working within Syensqo’s Research & Innovation (R&I) GBU, the position offers the opportunity to lead Syensqo into new growth territories with breakthrough innovation to develop the next-generation of materials and process technology. 
  • The researcher will work collaboratively with scientists and researchers on the operation, maintenance, and fabrication/development of novel processing/reactor designs.

  • Maintains a safe work environment for self and others

  • Demonstrated capabilities with laboratory practices associated with wet-lab chemistry and formulating is required

  • Familiarity with various analytical and material characterization techniques is required

  • Execute detailed experimental plans

  • Ensure clarity of planning and communication from Strategic R&I group to processing, analytical, shipping, etc.

  • Prepare and submit samples for testing; Collect and organize data; Communicate to Strategic R&I group

  • Contribute and support process development and trials

  • Manage raw material inventories, spare parts, and consumables

  • Manage sample inventory and prepare/receive shipments working with customer service and shipping teams

  • Maintain relevant Certified Operator status and adhere to relevant work area SOPs and processes

  • Participate in peer and area coordinator safety audits and attends all required safety meetings and trainings

  • Perform other tasks as required

  • Capable of performing daily activities autonomously, as part of a team and cross-functionally 

  • Overtime (over 40 hrs/work week) and/or alternate shift work may be required

  • Occasional overnight travel may be required 

You will bring:

  • Minimum BS or BA degree in chemistry, materials science or related engineering field 

  • Preferably 1+ years of industrial experience with chemical and process chemistry development 

  • Demonstrated problem solving ability and capability to identify and execute improvements to current process

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to meet U.S. export control requirements

Skills

  • Must be able to regularly lift and move items weighing 55 lbs

  • Must be medically cleared to wear respirator

  • High attention to detail and ability to work meticulously 

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

  • Demonstrated capability of setting-up and running chemical reactions with little oversight required

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude preferred

  • Able to organize and share data/information using email and Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills

  • Fluent in English (both written and oral) is required.  Other languages can be useful.

  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • The U.S. annual base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this new hire is: $60,000 to $68,000 per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including skills, experience, and qualifications. It can ultimately be more or less than the posted salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
  • 16 or more weeks of maternity/paternity and co-parenting leave, according to local regulations.
