Maintenance Supervisor — Anaheim, CA Plant
Position Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor provides frontline leadership for day-to-day maintenance execution at Syensqo’s Anaheim, CA composite materials manufacturing plant. This role is accountable for safe, compliant, and high-quality maintenance execution while supporting reliability, cost effectiveness, and continuous improvement objectives. The Maintenance Supervisor operates within the SAP (CMMS) work order lifecycle and places particular emphasis on break-in work and urgent priority work (P0/P1), including rapid coordination of spare parts and materials logistics required to execute these work orders effectively.
Reporting Line / Organization
- Reports to: Maintenance Manager
- Team leadership scope: Approximately 20 multi-craft tradesmen assigned to roster panels supporting 24/7 coverage
- Contractor oversight: Oversees contractors as required to support execution needs
Key Responsibilities
1) HSE, Compliance & Field Leadership
- Ensure consistent application of all site safety rules and safe work practices; validate safe behaviors and work quality through active field presence.
- Evaluate jobs to ensure work can be executed safely prior to and during execution (e.g., job walkdowns, hazard recognition, and required work controls).
- Reinforce workplace excellence through coaching, accountability, and consistent application of standards.
- Authorized signer under the plant's safe work permit system
2) Shift Leadership & Maintenance Execution (Swing Shift Focus)
- Lead and coordinate daily maintenance execution primarily on 2nd/swing shift.
- Provide coverage for other shifts and/or weekends as required to ensure continuity of maintenance support.
- Drive maintenance sector performance through established KPIs and participation in regular performance and operational meetings.
- Support technicians with technical and organizational guidance to enable timely and high-quality execution.
3) Work Management Excellence (SAP CMMS Focus, with Break-in/P0-P1 Priority)
- Work closely within the SAP (CMMS) work order lifecycle, supporting strong discipline in:
- Work order execution readiness and coordination
- Timely close-out and accurate maintenance history capture
- Effective communication of execution status and constraints
- Execute strong coordination and decision-making for urgent break-in work and P0/P1 work orders, ensuring safety, speed, and work quality.
4) Break-in / P0-P1 Spares, Materials & Logistics Support
- Support spare parts and materials logistics for break-in and P0/P1 work orders, including:
- Identifying parts/material needs early and coordinating sourcing/availability
- Securing necessary parts to execute urgent work
- Staging and/or kitting parts where practical to accelerate execution
- Communicating alternatives or constraints to the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler and Maintenance Manager
5) Maintenance Best Practices, Reliability & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure consistent and widespread use of maintenance best practices across the roster/sector.
- Identify opportunities to enhance the maintenance work process and improve cost effectiveness and efficiency.
- Participate in reliability and continuous improvement meetings or actions.
6) Planning/Scheduling Support (Planner/Scheduler Interface)
- Support the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler by:
- Walking down jobs and developing scope of work
- Developing bills of materials for job scopes
- Securing necessary parts to execute jobs
- Staging and/or kitting parts for jobs
- Estimating manpower needs
- Oversee and coordinate planning and scheduling readiness for turnaround/shutdown work within the assigned sector as required.
7) People Leadership, Coaching & Capability Building
- Identify competency requirements and training needs.
- Coach and develop maintenance personnel and hold them accountable for delivery of results.
- Maintain effective working relationships with Production/Operations and constructively challenge priorities when required.
8) Budget Contribution
- Contribute to the sector annual budgeting process and monitor performance versus budget; take actions within scope to achieve committed results.
Scope / Equipment Environment
The Anaheim plant includes, but is not limited to, the following equipment and systems:
- Mixers
- Ovens and thermal processing equipment
- Utilities (e.g., air, steam, chilled water, vacuum, process water, LV/MV electrical etc.)
- Dust collection systems
- Prepreg machines
- Hot melt systems
- Solution dip systems
- Related supporting infrastructure and controls

Qualifications & Experience
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Experience: Working knowledge of chemical/process plant equipment (pumps, piping, heat exchangers, vessels, instrumentation, etc.) along with a background in maintenance and repair of this equipment. This knowledge is typically gained through 5+ years of industrial experience in a chemical plant or related industry, including 3+ years in maintenance.
- Systems/Tools: Good computer and written communication skills. Working knowledge of SAP (CMMS) and common productivity tools (e.g., Word, Excel). Knowledge of MS Project is a plus.

- Plant-based role at the Anaheim, CA site.

- Works in manufacturing areas requiring PPE and adherence to site safety requirements.

- Safe and compliant execution of maintenance work, including urgent break-in and P0/P1 work
- Improved responsiveness and execution performance during swing shift coverage
- Strong SAP work order quality (close-out discipline, accurate history) supporting reliability improvements
- Improved parts/material readiness for urgent work; reduced delays due to logistics constraints
- Reduced repeat failures and improved reliability/efficiency performance
You will get:
- Competitive salary and benefits package. The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $98,720 to $123,400 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
