Senior System Quality Engineer
Position Overview
The Senior Systems Quality Engineer is responsible for leading and supporting quality systems and continuous improvement initiatives across the site. This role ensures compliance with internal and external quality standards, drives root cause analysis, and partners with cross-functional teams to enhance product and process quality. The Senior Systems Quality Engineer acts as a subject matter expert in quality systems, supporting both operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of site quality management systems (QMS) in alignment with Syensqo and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 9001/AS9100, NADCAP).
Drive continuous improvement projects focused on quality, efficiency, and risk mitigation.
Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes for non-conformances and customer complaints.
Conduct internal and external audits; support regulatory and customer audits as required.
Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure robust product and process quality.
Develop and deliver quality training to employees at all levels.
Support new product introductions and process changes from a quality perspective.
Maintain documentation and records in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
Serve as a mentor and technical resource to junior engineers and quality team members.
Responsible for leading the Anaheim sites’ QMS and audit preparation for quality.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in quality engineering or quality systems, preferably in the specialty chemicals or advanced materials industry.
In-depth knowledge of quality management systems and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, GMP).
Proven experience with root cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Certification in quality engineering (CQE), auditing (CQA), or Six Sigma is a plus.

- Competitive salary and benefits package. The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $94,960.00 to $142,440.00 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
