We are looking for:
A Maintenance Manager to lead and manage the maintenance functions at the site, focusing on mechanical and electrical reliability in maintenance activities and new construction, and maintaining a predictive, proactive maintenance organization. In addition, this position will manage boiler operations as well as the storeroom function and serve as the primary plant procurer for MRO items and services. The person in this position will ensure the efficient utilization of departmental resources to continually improve equipment reliability, optimize unit operating costs, implement cost reduction measures, enforce and comply with HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) standards as set forth under OSHA and Syesnqo. Areas of responsibility include the continued execution of maintenance procedures, mechanical integrity, and maintenance management system based upon sound, fundamental maintenance standards and practice. The person in this position will be an agent of change instilling discipline, efficiency and accountability to the maintenance workforce in the overall execution of day-to-day activities. Also, a key fundamental to success will be maintaining the mindset in the maintenance workforce of root cause identification and corrective action to eliminate and prevent repeated repairs. This position will drive the development of key performance indicators in regard to the maintenance service function to benchmark performance against best in class, track progress and measure success in these endeavors.

Manage Stationary Engineer and Storeroom Coordinator.

Instill discipline and accountability in execution of procedures focusing on Life Critical procedures. Lead this effort by example.

Drive/implement formal program of root cause identification/failure analysis and corrective actions for maintenance related failures.

Provide the leadership and establish or refine system to transform maintenance activities to those that perform work in an orderly and proactive manner based on principles of reliable designs and preventive/predictive maintenance.

Develop, implement and continually improve maintenance management systems including mechanical integrity programs, work order system, maintenance standards and procedures.

Develop and implement personal development plans for self as well as direct and indirect reports.

Develops, reports, and monitors key performance indicators for maintenance.

Support the plant’s quality management systems and its compliance with pertinent quality standards including ISO 9001, EFfCI, RSPO and HALAL..

Fully participate in plant HSE initiatives including performing periodic audits and housekeeping inspections.

Instill discipline and accountability in execution of procedures of Life Critical procedures. Lead this effort by example.

Enforce all site and Syensqo safety rules and procedures within the maintenance and engineering departments as well as contractors used in these activities.

Assure appropriate HSE training is provided to all direct and indirect reports.

Assure all safety inspections and audits are performed and documented.
-
Assure mechanical integrity program is maintained and adhered to.

Conduct periodic inspections to assure compliance to existing safety rules and procedures and to assess the effectiveness and need for other risk reduction activities within the departments.

Assure all contractors understand and adhere to plant safety rules and procedures.
-
Participate in regulatory and internal audits as needed.

Represent Solvay through daily actions that reinforce the corporate values demonstrating personal commitment to a safe, healthy and environmentally sound workplace for employees.

Conduct or direct the completion of investigation of incidents or near misses, as appropriate, and ensure corrective actions are identified, assigned, and completed.
You will bring:
-
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Chemical, or similar Engineering; or equivalent technical degree. Specific education or training in reliability engineering or maintenance a plus.

Five to ten years working in an industrial facility, preferably in a chemical process production plant with three or more years of supervisory experience in maintenance, or process and/or project engineering.

Excellent leadership and organizational skills to manage, motivate and develop personnel and to facilitate cooperation between departments.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Good computer skills with working knowledge of Google Workspace, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint SAP experience is a plus.

Substantial understanding of OSHA standards, concepts, and procedures relating to Life Critical activities. Must have working knowledge of OSHA personnel and process safety standards especially the impact of mechanical equipment and instruments on process safety. Should have general awareness of air, waste, wastewater, and storm water environmental regulations.

Working knowledge of mechanical integrity systems and requirements.

Thorough knowledge preventative and predictive maintenance concepts.

Good knowledge of project management/engineering fundamentals.

Working knowledge with computer based maintenance management systems.

Familiarity with batch and continuous processing a plus.

Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and uneven surfaces
-
Ability to communicate (writing/speaking) fluently in English
-
Ability to be exposed to elements and stand for more than 60 minutes

The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $108,000 to $135,000 per year . Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
