We are looking for:
A Production Operator to support the Baton Rouge, LA site. The primary purpose of the position is to carry out production operations following all established procedures in a safe, environmentally responsible, and efficient manner. All activities are expected to be in conformance with local, federal, and state regulations and standards, as well as plant quality standards.
We count on you for:
- Ability to work rotating days and nights on a dedicated shift (2 week schedule – 2 days ON, 2 days OFF, 3 days ON, 2 days OFF, 2 days ON, 3 days OFF). Ability to work overtime as needed by unit/staffing demands.
- Operate all production chemical processing equipment including: reactors, distillation columns, liquid-liquid extraction columns, centrifuges, wiped film evaporators, heat exchangers, piping networks, conveyors, hoses, pumps, valves, instruments, vessels, scales, tanks, scrubbers, dryers, screeners, etc.
- Operate packaging equipment including: box machines, fill station, bag sealer, robot, land-wrap, metal detector, etc.
- Perform routine equipment and area inspections per the company’s policy, while maintaining accurate reporting and safety checklist
- Collect, prepare, run, and analyze unit samples in the process lab using LC, GC, moisture analyzer, and titrator
- Maintain a clean and organized workplace by meeting the housekeeping standard established by the management team
- The ability to successfully give and receive feedback from both peers and managers is essential
- Prepare Work Orders for maintenance on the unit as needed as well as preparing the equipment for maintenance (clearing lines, LOTO, etc.).
- Communicate employee concerns and operating developments accurately and promptly to management
- Safely operate fork trucks and manlift
- Rework off-spec product through the unit which will require physical labor to move/handle boxes/drums with an approximate weight of 75lbs.
- Perform maintenance activities on production equipment as directed by the management team
- Represent Syensqo USA LLC through daily actions that reinforce the corporate values; demonstrating personal commitment to a safe, healthy and environmentally sound workplace for employees
- Work with engineers, production specialists, as well as other plant personnel to safely and efficiently accomplish plant responsibilities

What you will bring:
- Current and active TWIC card
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Two to five years of operational experience preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to perform all tasks that are required to operate the chemical processing unit at the Baton Rouge facility
- Ability to operate a computer and any associated software required to do the job
- Knowledge of chemical processing equipment such as reactors, feeders, heat exchangers, piping networks, hoses, pumps, instruments, vessels, scales, tanks, packaging equipment etc. is STRONGLY preferred.
- Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift
- Ability to operate equipment such as forklifts and manlift
- Must be willing to be part of the emergency response team
Physical Requirements?
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs consistently throughout the shift
- Wear required safety equipment, such as long sleeve shirts, long pants, earplugs, goggles, respirators (half-face and full-face), and steel-toed shoes
- Climb stairs/ladders and work high off the ground, including tight spaces (at times elevated work can be greater than four feet above the ground)
- Stand or walk for extended periods of time (up to 10- 12 hours per shift)
- Ability to pass the required physical fitness exam
