We are looking for:

The Research and Innovation (R&I) teams within the Business Unit Novecare support the business in new growing opportunities by developing sustainable chemistries and processes that create value.

This position is located in the Technology Center team of the Bristol Research & Innovation Centre, a multidisciplinary location which also hosts the application labs for the Syensqo Novecare business unit as well as the Syensqo Corporate R&I Process Safety and Automation & Robotics laboratories. The R&I Techno team develops new surfactant and natural polymer molecules and provides support to process improvement for existing manufacturing processes.

We count on you for:

• Understand and respect all Syensqo Bristol site safety rules.

• Support the development of new chemistry to synthesize new biodegradable functionalized natural polymers to be tested for different applications in markets such as HPC (Home Care and Personal Care), Agro (Agriculture), Coatings ...

• Support the development of new process lab tools in different unit operations (chemical reaction engineering, mixing, solid handling …).

• Perform lab-scale experiments in order to obtain all necessary data for process development.

• Analyze the lab data acquired and efficiently communicate results internally.

• Develop simple process models (material balance, kinetics) based on experimental data.

• Periodically summarize results and discuss conclusions with the project team and the Techno R&I team.

You will bring:

• In pursuit of Bachelor or Master degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Technology.

• Theoretical & practical knowledge on organic chemistry, polymer functionalization, reaction kinetics, mixing, and analytical characterization is preferred.

• Interest in laboratory work.

• Proactivity, autonomy and open-mindedness.

• Good written and oral communication skills.

• Ability to work on several projects.

• Be able to solve problems.
