We are looking for:
The Production Technician is responsible for the operation of an entire integrated system of equipment, consisting frequently of one or more trains or sets of equipment in which major production reactions are carried out, and also of auxiliary equipment in which intermediate or by-products of the reaction are processed. This involves responsibility for the overall process.
We count on you for:
- Confers with the off-going Technician in order to determine what the operating conditions are and what operating difficulties, if any, exist.
- Receives special instructions from the Superintendent / Manager as to the temperatures, pressures and rates of flows to be maintained.
- Checks the raw or semi-finished storage inventory to determine that sufficient supply is on hand and what rates of flow are to be maintained.
- Maintains proper conditions of temperature, pressure, rate of flow, level, etc., in the assigned pieces of equipment by the observation and adjustment of the temperature, pressure, level and flow controllers and instruments on the control board.
- Goes out into the unit(s) to investigate and remedy any unusual operating conditions or difficulties which cannot be handled from the control board.
- Operates unit in compliance with specified procedures.
- Ensures that proper samples are taken throughout the assigned system, has on-specification materials sent to storage and off-specification materials reworked. When in doubt about the significance of an analysis, consults the Superintendent / Manager.
- Manages the constant watch of equipment and instruments for indications of process leaks or mechanical difficulties and has any such indications immediately and thoroughly investigated, or reports them to the Superintendent / Manager. To avoid a potentially hazardous or troublesome situation arising out of the failure to take corrective action in time, repairs of a minor nature are performed. These may include detecting and arresting vacuum leaks, toxic leaks and clearing plugged lines.
- Logs a continuing check on safety equipment to see that it is maintained in working order.
- Support advancement initiatives by actively engaging in the Safety, Zero Defect/Quality, Customer Focus and Operations Improvement Plans. Supports the PSM audit program as required.
- Complete various training on regulatory requirements and hazardous waste management procedures relevant to this position within six (6) months of employment,, and complete any required refresher training thereafter.
- Performs other duties as directed by supervision.
You will bring:
- Required: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: Associates Degree or Technical Training School Certification plus Silver or Gold Career Readiness Certificate.
- Must be able to read and comprehend procedures, prints, drawings, log sheets, and written instructions.
- Must be able to learn and use VDT systems for process control and information transmission.
- Must be capable of performing related non-routine duties such as checkout and shakedown of new and repaired equipment, test procedures for performance standards on equipment and processing requirements.
- This position requires regular, dependable attendance.

- The U.S. hourly rate to be paid for this new hire is: $30.94 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, such as skills, experience, qualifications, etc. and can ultimately be more or less than the posted salary range.

Additional Information:
- Must be able to meet physical requirements ie. lifting/carrying at least 55 lbs, sit, stand, walk, twist, reach, repetitve motion, operating moving machinery and chemical exposure.
- Must be able to read and comprehend procedures, prints, drawings, log sheets, and written instructions. Must be able to use VDT systems for process control and information transmission. Must have minimum hearing to detect alarms and warnings. Must be able to wear all required PPE.
- Must be able to access open-grating, multi-story facilities or equipment by stairway or ladder.
