We are looking for:
The Laboratory Analytical Technician Tests and inspects products at various stages of the production process; compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.


We count on you for:

  • Evaluates finished products per established specifications.
  • Analysis of special and project samples, as needed. Analytical techniques include GC, thermal analysis, colorimetry, gravimetric analysis, mechanical and other analysis.
  • Makes routine and special analyses of raw materials with demonstrated accuracy.
  • Accurately analyzes plant effluent waste water samples, using the approved analytical procedure, with good laboratory technique.
  • Maintains and records calibration of all analytical and monitoring instruments.
  • Updates and maintains documentation for auditing purposes, lab analysis, SOPs and company policies and procedures.
  • Recommends changes in procedures to increase efficiency and safety within the department.
  • Assists in maintaining adequate inventories of laboratory materials and supplies.
  • Responsible for proper care and maintenance of assigned laboratory equipment.
  • Tests products at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics.
  • Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
  • Evaluates data to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
  • Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
  • Prepares and submits special products and process samples as required.
  • Maintains an effective safety and housekeeping program for the laboratory.
  • Inputting of analytical results into a SAP.
  • Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for analysis.
  • Provide on-the-job training of other employees to provide coverage in the event of an absence.
  • Maintain current training status in the following:  ISO 9001, Safety, Environmental, and Job Specific Training courses.
  • Conduct and participate in internal, external and customer audits.
     

You will bring:

  • Bachelors Degree (B.S.) in chemistry or a related field with working knowledge of analytical procedures is preferred
  • Five years' actual experience in chemistry or an analytical laboratory may substitute for the college degree.
  • Superior Communication skills
  • Experience in the following programs – Microsoft Office, distributive control systems, SAP.
  • Ability to apply prioritize daily functions to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to perform detailed analytical techniques and interpret and record results in an accurate and precise manner to insure quality results.
  • Strong working knowledge of various mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, and proportions.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
     

You will get:

  • Competitive salary.  The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $30.00 - $39.00 per hour. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
