We are looking for:

 

The Mechanical Project Engineer is responsible for:  1) Providing engineering leadership in the development, design, and execution of small to medium-sized capital projects within the Piedmont and Rock Hill sites; 2) Providing direct oversight of outside engineering firms and technical specialists to ensure project designs are developed in compliance with Syensqo specifications, standards, and engineering practices; 3) Supporting Production and Maintenance teams by providing mechanical design input to maintenance activities and reliability projects.

  • Effectively manage multiple capital and expense projects simultaneously from project concept (FEL I-III) to implementation and closure (full execution).
  • Develop project scopes, cost estimates, and schedules with input from Production, Process, and Maintenance engineering teams.
  • Lead detailed design efforts for small capital and expense projects.
  • Lead and manage external engineering contractors for large capital project design efforts and provide additional design resources during peak activity levels.
  • Develop engineering specifications and bid packages for engineering services, construction labor, and equipment.
  • Lead project design reviews with input from multiple departments, such as Production, Industrial Automation, Process Engineering, and Maintenance.
  • Develop project work plans to identify construction resources for project execution.
  • Develop engineering transmittals to communicate project design details to construction.
  • Assist construction supervisor with coordination activities for project execution.
  • Utilize SAP to manage project spending and equipment setup activities.
  • Assist Maintenance and Reliability team to procure capital spares.
  • Participate in project PSSRs, commissioning, startup, and training activities.
  • Provide support for small projects that require mechanical engineering design elements.
  • Develop and maintain site project engineering procedures.
  • Adhere to all HSE standards, policies, and procedures.

You will bring:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience (chemical/refinery and PSM experience preferred)
  • Experience with project design and project management
  • Experience in work management, preventive maintenance, asset life cycle management, key performance indicators, process optimization, and performance management
  • Must have working knowledge of applicable standards (eg ASME, API, NFPA, OSHA) relating to electrical systems in a chemical facility.
  • Proficient in SAP PS Project and PM Maintenance Modules preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, CAD drawing viewers, and/or other project engineering tools

  • The U.S. annual base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this new hire is: $98,720 to $123,400.  Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, such as skills, experience, qualifications, etc. and can ultimately be more or less than the posted salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
  • 16, or more, weeks of maternity/paternity and co-parenting leave, according to local regulations
