We are looking for:
Responsible for coordinating the day to day operations activities at the Spartanburg plant while driving continuous improvement culture with ultimate goal of safely increasing plant capacity in line with the site roadmap. Develop improvement plans for training, quality, production procedures, and operations unit safety as directed by the Operations Manager and handle daily production unit management and trouble shooting. Production Superintendent will ensure that all products are produced, packaged, stored and shipped safely, on schedule, and meet all quality specifications. The Production Superintendent leads the production unit operations team in quality improvement, productivity improvement, safety improvement, and training activities. This includes recognizing and troubleshooting production problems and taking preventive or corrective action. The Production Superintendent maintains the Job Performance Testing and is the Maintenance liaison for the production department.The Production Superintendent works with plant operations, production coordinators and technicians, plant scheduler, plant planner, materials manager, the technical group and maintenance, to assure the plant operates in a smooth and efficient manner. The primary responsibilities are to improve quality, productivity, safety, and production team knowledge and skills.

Oversee daily operation of the production department.

Responsible for the direct supervision of shift coordinators and production technicians.

Schedule manpower as needed to operate the plant.

Provide written daily instructions for the operations department.

Design and oversee the Job Performance testing program, the Site Specific Training Program, and new equipment training initiatives.

Monitor Production department maintenance activities and aid the Maintenance planner in scheduling, assessing, and managing the maintenance /operations/ scheduling interface.

Oversee batch data management including production schedules and batch sheets to assure the proper accounting and materials usages are maintained.

Aid in turnaround management of production duties.

Conduct safety audits on operations tasks, identify areas of improvement, and lead improvement efforts.

Develop training modules and conduct training activities within the unit as needed.

Develop action plans to improve quality, productivity, safety, and operations personnel skills/knowledge.

Monitor daily production and advise Production Coordinator as a mentor.

Participate in design and improvement teams and activities within the production unit as assign by the operations manager.

Monitor production variances and process upsets, investigating abnormal production process upsets and finding resolutions.

Follow all site safety rules and procedures.

Conduct periodic inspections to assure compliance to existing process safety rules and procedures and to assess the effectiveness and need for other risk reduction activities.

Participate in PSUSR’s, PHA’s, CTA’s, and other risk reduction processes by lending experience and knowledge of plant operations.

Sets standards for performance against HSE policies and procedures, and holds employees accountable for performance against those standards.

Lead and participate in incident investigations.

Responsible to maintain a quality management system that meets the requirements of the ISO 9001 2015 standard.

Focus efforts in four areas which include Safety, Customer Focus, Excellence and Continuous Improvement, and Sustainability.

Act as Incident Commander in emergency situations as a back up to the Operations Manager.

You will bring:

This position requires an engineering degree with 5+ years industrial experience including team leadership and group management experience in a chemical facility. Additional educational background may be substituted in place of the experience.

Familiar with all tasks performed by Production Coordinators and Production Technicians.
-
Familiar with MMRP and CMMS transactions required to manage production schedules, modify inventory transactions, as well as run efficiency reports.

Strong interpersonal skills to interface with line personnel and plant management. Including good presentations skills, ability to write reports, proposals, and project justifications.

Advanced experience and knowledge of troubleshooting skills to properly identify causes of production equipment and process upsets.

Training skills above average with the capability to develop training programs and methods, as well as providing hands-on and theoretical training modules including fair and representative testing mechanisms.

Well versed in DCS operations and capabilities.

Computer skills required for electronic communications, maintenance work orders, production inventory management, incident/accident reporting, data retrieval (MSDS), presentation/training module development, basic data analysis, report creation, and general office activities.

Ability to coach, council, and motivate peers across departments in a constructive manner.
Ability to efficiently and accurately communicate with peers, subordinates, and superiors in a constructive manner.

Knowledge of maintenance and engineering disciplines and their application in optimum production management.

The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $84,960 to $106,200 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
