Job Title: Lab Tech Internship

We are looking for:
Syensqo has an exciting opportunity for someone seeking hands-on research experience in our Tempe, AZ R&D facility! This Research Internship is a 12-week program within our mining business in the fields of solvent extraction and mineral flotation processes . The internship will involve conducting analytical experiments and supporting laboratory operations to understand and improve chemical processes relevant to mining and chemical solutions.
What you will do:
- Gain hands-on experience in wet chemistry and chemical engineering in a professional laboratory setting focused on mining and chemical processes.
- Use a variety of laboratory methods, including but not limited to:
- Analysis of process stage efficiency
- Determining yields and outlet results
- Titrations
- Atomic Absorption (AA) Spectroscopy
- Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) analysis
- Preparation of dilutions and lab samples
- Maintaining lab stock chemicals
- Daily housekeeping and laboratory clean-up
- Quality control and assurance procedures
- Support laboratory staff in routine tasks and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding trade secrets or customer information. Some project details may be shared with Arizona State University to allow the intern to earn course credit, as appropriate.

What you will bring:
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in material science, chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university. Graduating seniors will be considered.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong interest in laboratory research and willingness to learn new techniques.
- Attention to detail, good communication skills, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and ethical standards.
What you will get:
- The U.S. base compensation range reasonably expected for this position is $18.00 per hour. Actual compensation may vary based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate.
