We are looking for:
The Material Planner/Asset Scheduler is responsible for managing the Production Activity Control (PAC) system within the Vernon Supply Chain. This role involves developing and executing a Material Resource Plan (MRP) based on the Master Production Schedule (MPS) provided by the Materials Manager or Supply Planner, ensuring that customer orders for the Vernon site are fulfilled. The Material Planner/Asset Scheduler serves as the primary owner of the short- and mid-term production scheduling horizon (0–12 weeks).
We count on you for:
- Production Scheduling & Execution
- Develop and manage detailed daily and weekly production schedules to ensure timely delivery of materials and finished goods.
- Update production schedules regularly and review daily work instructions.
- Monitor schedule adherence, investigate root causes of deviations, and implement corrective actions.
- Create, release, and confirm process orders at the SKU level to meet Material Requirements Planning (MRP) needs.
- Populate and update MF50 for planned orders and manage planning parameters in SAP (lead times, lot sizes, MRP types, safety stock).
- Supplier & Inventory Management
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of raw materials, resolving issues related to delays or quality concerns.
- Utilize forecasting tools and historical data to predict material requirements and align procurement with production needs.
- Analyze slow-moving and obsolete inventory, developing and implementing mitigation plans.
- Oversee on-site inventory levels for products, raw materials/intermediates, and packaging supplies; procure replenishments as needed to maintain efficient operations.
- Monitor supplier delivery performance and work with procurement to drive improvements.
- SAP & Data Accuracy
- Ensure accurate and timely entry of production data into SAP.
- Coordinate the staging of packaging supplies, raw materials, and rework materials.
- Shipping & Coordination
- Provide accurate product labeling.
- Coordinate shipping activities in collaboration with the Materials Manager and Shipping Coordinator.
- Inventory Control
- Conduct cycle counts for packaging materials, raw materials, base products, and finished goods.
- Participate in physical inventory activities as required.
- Leadership & Coverage
- Serve as backup for the Materials Manager and Shipping Coordinator during their absences.
- Provide functional leadership to warehouse and shipping personnel when covering leadership roles.

You will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or 5+ years of related experience
- APICS/ASCM CPIM or CSCP certification strongly preferred
- 5+ years of progressive experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment
- SAP experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) and IATA regulations, ISO 9000 standards and shipping/receiving/warehousing processes
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into operational decisions
- Proficiency in developing and using Excel spreadsheets
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Customer-focused mindset

- The U.S. annual base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this new hire is: $88,480 to $110,600. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, such as skills, experience, qualifications, etc. and can ultimately be more or less than the posted salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
