We are looking for:

Maintenance Instrument & Electrical Technician. Perform maintenance on plant instrument and electrical equipment/ systems in accordance with NFPA and company safety, health, & environmental policies. Maintains and repairs electrical, electronic, and pneumatic instrumentation for process control, including PLC’s, analyzers, and Distributed Control Systems. Reporting: Reports to the Maintenance Supervisor. HSE Statement: Ensure that health, safety, security, and protection of the environment are given the highest priority in all activities performed within Syensqo Specialty Polymers.

  • Implement Syensqo safety and Industrial Hygiene (IH) procedures, leading by example to promote a safety-first culture within the maintenance team.

  • Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend
    corrective actions.

  • Participate in safety meetings, Job Hazard Analyses (JHA’s), Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP’s), and incident investigations. 

  • Prepare equipment for safe maintenance operations by completing safe work permits as
    Required.

  • Participate in emergency response drills and be prepared to act swiftly in case of equipment
    failures or safety incidents. Instrumentation & Electrical Maintenance and Operations 

  • Install, repair, and troubleshoot three-phase medium and low voltage power distribution
    systems, including transformers, switchgear, motors, variable frequency drives, and other electronic and pneumatic equipment. 

  • Install, repair, and troubleshoot digital control systems, I/P systems, control valves, flow
    meters, temperature and pressure transmitters, and burner safety management systems.

  • Install, test, and edit programs for programmable logic controllers (PLC) to set up interlocks, alarms, equipment shutdown/startup, and manage digital/analog data.
    o Perform preventive and routine maintenance on electrical and instrumentation equipment and systems.

  • Utilize all types of industrial shop and portable tools safely and effectively.

  • Operate basic rigging, hoists, cranes, and forklifts.

  • Use advanced diagnostic tools and technologies to troubleshoot and resolve complex
    instrumentation and electrical issues. Documentation and Reporting

  • Read and understand instrument and electrical drawings, schematics, and manuals.

  • Complete required written documentation regarding instrument and electrical equipment and systems, including equipment inspections and process equipment readings.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, parts used, and time spent on tasks.

  • Prepare and maintain records in accordance with ISO 9001 and quality plant safety
    certification requirements. Collaboration and Continuous Improvement

  • Actively participate in achieving department and site-wide goals in safety, environmental
    compliance, reliability, quality, and cost control.

  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency, suggesting and implementing improvements to maintenance procedures and practices.

  • Work closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of
    maintenance activities with production schedules.

  • Share knowledge and best practices with team members to foster a culture of learning and development.

  • Conduct in-process quality analysis as required and ensure good housekeeping in the
    assigned area, properly cleaning equipment.

  • Be available for overtime and emergency call-ins during night shifts, weekends, and holidays.

  • Complete all auxiliary duties assigned by supervision.

  • Actively advance knowledge and skills in instrument and electrical competencies, following directions and working independently.



 



You will bring:

  • 5+ years of maintenance experience within a chemical or manufacturing environment

  • 2 year technical degree a plus preferred

  • Good oral and written communication

  • Basic computer skills (e.g. email, internet, Microsoft Office)

  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS - SAP) and calibration management system (Beamex) preferred

  • The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is  ( $44.79 per hour). Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
