We are looking for:
The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Engineer leads efforts to ensure that the company not only complies with all federal, state and local legislated environmental programs but also implements programs which reflect Solvay’s values and protects the wellbeing of our team members and the communities in which we operate.
We count on you for:
- Prepare regulatory reports for air, water, and waste as required by the regulations
- Manage the site waste program, including Hazardous and Non Hazardous Waste
- Assist in the Industrial Hygiene program including risk assessments and monitoring as needed, respiratory protection and hearing conservation programs, etc.
- Key member of the HSE team supporting health, safety and environmental, Develop and ensure Solvay North America environmental, safety, and health procedures are being implemented
- Provide necessary HSE training to facility employees and contractors and maintain records and other related documentation in association with this training
- Support the facility in maintaining the Responsible Care Management System
- Review projects, changes, and activities to ensure health, safety, and environmental issues are identified and addressed
- Participate in the sites’ HSE committees
- Conduct program inspections and audits, summarize key findings, develop and present recommendations for approval
- Assist in leading the site Emergency Response Team
- Perform auxiliary duties as assigned by the HSE Manager

You will bring:
- Bachelor's of Science degree; preferably in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, safety or a related technical discipline
- 1+ years of HSE experience in a manufacturing environment; chemical manufacturing preferred.
- Knowledgeable in EPA, OSHA, federal and state regulations.
- Experience working at chemical, petrochemical, or pharmaceutical facility.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communication.
- Strong technical aptitude, including the ability to quickly and efficiently learn
applications, systems, policies and procedures. - A self starter with a keen eye for detail
- US Citizen or Green Card Holder
You will get:
- Competitive salary and benefits package
- The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $85,000 to $105,000 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
