Microbiologist - Oil & Gas Biocides, Oldbury, UK.
We are seeking:
- A Microbiologist with proven experience in industry. In this role, you will contribute to and participate in research and development projects focused on water treatment chemical applications, particularly microbial control and biocide solutions in Oil and Gas applications.

- Ability to design, conduct, and interpret laboratory tests for developing and improving biocide products and technologies for water treatment use.
- Development and maintenance of advanced laboratory testing methods and equipment specific to microbiological and biocide performance in water treatment environments.
- Provide technical support on existing biocide products and technologies, including troubleshooting and optimization.
- Deliver technical support to customers, addressing microbial challenges.

You will bring:
- Strong problem-solving and laboratory skills, with a proactive attitude for addressing technical and business challenges.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
- Preference for candidates qualified at degree level or above in microbiology, biochemistry, chemical engineering, petroleum engineering, or related disciplines, with relevant industry experience.
- Experience with biocide selection, application, and efficacy testing in water treatment applications is highly desirable.
Desired Skills
- Experience in microbiology, biocide mechanisms, and microbial monitoring techniques.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory instrumentation and testing protocols for microbial control.
- Knowledge of oilfield operations, including microbial-induced corrosion, reservoir souring, and water treatment would be an advantage.
- Strong customer support and problem-solving skills.

Additional Information:
- The role is based at our Oldbury, UK site, 5 days/week (Mon-Fri).
